Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) moved a step further when trained over 30 Bangladesh senior government officials from various ministries that take place in UUMKL, since a month ago. The third group is the group that underwent Continuous Professional Development (CPD) undertaken by the university for two weeks.

Previously, many UUM implement training to senior government officials from Aceh, Indonesia, which has entered the second group and senior government officials from India and some other countries. UUM vice-chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak said these efforts will be continued to allow UUM as a management university senior role to train other countries around the world.

He said this can be done because UUM has expertise in management and short-term training will help officers do their jobs right more efficiently.

"We train senior government officials Aceh after most of their senior officers died in the tsunami. In fact, now the second group was trained at the university.

"Therefore, we will continue to cooperate with Bangladesh embassy in Kuala Lumpur to pursue other projects in the future," he said in the closing of the senior officers of Bangladesh CPD at a hotel in Alor Setar, here, recently.

Also present were Director UUMKL Datuk Prof Mohd Yusof Kasim, Deputy Director UUMKL, Suzaini Abdullah and facilitators of CPD held in Kuala Lumpur and UUM, Sintok
