A thirty-person delegation of five universities from Jakarta, Indonesia  led by Dr Syahrul Reza, Lektor Kepala, Doktor  Candi Commissioner Quality Assurance International Relations, Stiami University paid a visit to UUMKL branch campus recently. These institutions included Fakultas Hukum Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta (FH UPN), Universitas Islam Kediri (UNISKA), Universiti  Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UHAMKA), Yayasan Al Muhajirien and Stei Rawamangun.  The aim of the visitation was to foster mutual understanding and promotion of academic and research collaboration as well as scholarly research between the parties involved in various disciplines, and especially Law in particular.  Present at the meeting were staff members of UUMKL. 

The Director of UUMKL, Datuk Professor Mohd. Yusof Kassim extended a warm welcome to Dr Syahrul Reza and his delegation.  He also presented an introduction of the establishment and development of UUMKL, which was founded in 2004. He elaborated that UUMKL aimed at promoting academic programmes at the international level  as well as staff and student exchange in the neighbouring regions and abroad.  To further provide in-depth information on research opportunities available in the area of Law, Dr Ruzita Azmi,  academic coordinator  and senior lecturer of UUMKL,  presented a brief talk on Whistleblowing Protection Act, 2010. 

After the meeting, three Letters of Intent (LOI) were signed between UUMKL and Universitas  Muhammadiyah (UHAMKA), Fakultas Hukum Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jakarta, Indonesia (FH UPN) and Universitas Islam Kediri (UNISKA), Indonesia to seek potential collaboration on academic and joint research activities between the above-mentioned institutions. The LOI signing ceremony took place at the Executive Lounge on the 8th floor of UUMKL building. The collaboration will benefit all parties in establishing a platform and laying a foundation for inter-university academic cooperation in the future.
